Notes: I began composing this work as music for a ballet based on Jay Williams’ fairy-tale The Silver Whistle. Unfortunately, the sponsoring ballet company went bankrupt before the project progressed beyond the early stages. I used my sketches to create a work for narrator and orchestra, but someday I may rework sections of it into an orchestral work without narrator.
